Become a Master Gardener

MASTER GARDENERS are volunteers who assist their local Cooperative Extension Offices in educating the public in general gardening practices as well as the proper use of pesticides and fertilizers. To become a Master Gardener, an individual must complete 50 hours of horticulture instruction and return an equal number of hours (50) as a Master Gardener volunteer.

In-Person Course
September 5 – November 15, 2017
Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 a.m. until noon plus 3 Saturdays

Virtual Hybrid Course
August 16 – November 15, 2017
Lessons On-Line + Wednesday evening sessions + 3 Saturdays
Yorktown Library
8500 George Washington Mem. Hwy., Yorktown

Course Fee: $130.

Fees associated with this course will cover handbook, other materials, and background check*.

NOTE: Course workload (both versions) is equivalent to 50-60 class hours plus preparation.
