Caring for You, Caring for Me

The award-winning workshop addresses the needs of family caregivers engaged in caring for older adults. Participants will gather in a relaxed environment to gain new knowledge and understanding. They will have the opportunity to learn from each other as well through open discussion. Course topics include:
• What it means to be a caregiver
• Taking care of yourself
• Building cooperative relationships
• Preventing and solving problems
• Accessing and developing resources
The workshop takes place over five sessions, covering a total of 10 hours. The curriculum, which was designed by the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving, has received a Best Practices Award from both the Southern Gerontological Society and the Commonwealth Council on Aging. The class cost $25, but if paying for this course would be a hardship, financial assistance is available through the generosity of the Riverside Foundation.
