COMMON GROUND Our March Exhibition features artist Melanie Chambers Hartman. Hartman lives in Yorktown, Virginia where she paints landscapes en plein air and in her studio. She creates small paintings on location as a way of taking notes. These studies are a reminder of the lighting, colors and values seen at a particular date and time and they become valuable reference tools for creating larger paintings in her studio.
